Dr. Pugh was the first Veterinarian for the ‘Gulf Breeze Zoo, where he spent many hours caring for Exotic animals, while at the same time tending to his own practice. Florence (“Flo”) May Richio , 85, previously of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 5, 2022 at West Florida Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Florence was a resident of Pensacola, Florida for the past 18 months where she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Ana and Bryce, and her great-granddaughter, Isla Capri (her “GiGi”). It is our honor to serve military veterans and their families who have spent their lives in service to our country. James B. Wells, 82, of Panama City Beach, FL and previously Prospect Heights, IL passed away peacefully on December 1, 2022 at HCA Florida West Hospital, Pensacola, Florida. He was born October 12, 1940 in Des Moines, Iowa to Paul and Ione Wells, raised in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a liberal arts degree and a member of the ROTC program. S. Air Force from 1962 through 1968, with most of those years serving as a Missile Combat Crew Commander in the Atlas program. He later spent many years working with United Airlines at their headquarters in suburban Chicago, IL. He later retired to Panama City Beach where he has made his home for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Stephen and Edna Blanche Hurford, and one sister, Marianne Hurford. Florence is predeceased by her husband Anthony J. Richio, Sr. and is survived by her son Anthony J. Richio, Jr. , her daughter Florence Foglia and her daughter Angela Richio-Becroft . She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as extended family and friends. We are sad to announce that on December 9, 2022 we had to say goodbye to Catherine DeStefano of Pensacola, Florida.
He was creative in his techniques, designing prototypes for pelicans with frozen feet and bills. After graduating from Murphy High School, he enlisted in th US Army and served 18 months in Korea. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Auburn University, and following several years of ranch life in Fairhope, Al., he returned to Auburn to earn his Doctoral degree in Veterinary Medicine. He opened Airport Animal Hospital in Pensacola and built a successful practice sharing his love and devotion to animals.
